Phantomwise Tarot follows the traditional Rider–Waite–Smith system, featuring 78 cards divided into the 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana. The Minor Arcana are fully illustrated, making the symbolism accessible for both beginners and experienced readers.

Created by Erin Morgenstern during the early conceptual stages of her novel The Night Circus, this painted series explores the tarot archetypes through a refined black-and-white aesthetic. Each card reflects the core themes of the Rider–Waite–Smith tradition while introducing its own sense of whimsy and quiet mystery.

The accompanying guidebook provides interpretations of each card along with suggested spreads suitable for readers at any level.
